How and Where To Purchase JAMB ePIN

Candidate can purchase the JAMB UTME Pin from any of these channels below: 

1. NIPOST and Banks

Below are the list of the following banks where anyone can purchase the JAMB PIN;

  • FCMB
  • FIDELITY
  • JAIZ
  • POLARIS
  • ACCESS
  • ECOBANK
  • FIRSTBANK
  • STERLING
  • UNION
  • ZENITH
  • UNITY

2. Mobile Money Operators

The JAMB ePIN can be purchased from mobile money operators like; TEASYPay, Ooa Packway Projects (Readycash), Paga, and e-Tranzact (PocketMoni).

3. Micro Finance Banks

Candidates can purchase JAMB PIN from these two Micro Finance Banks: Regent MFB (Abuja) and FUD MFB (Dutse).

4. Online payment platforms

Interswitch (Quickteller) and SystemSpecs (Remita), are also used for the purchasing of JAMB PIN

5. ATMs (Automated Teller Machines)

Automated Teller Machines (ATM) of banks listed in the participating banks above serves as medium for the purchase of JAMB ePIN

6. USSD

USSD codes (NIBSS AND ERCAS) for mobile banking can also be initiated for the purchase of JAMB PIN

7. Nigeria Embassies

The JAMB PIN can also be purchase from the listed embassies below;

Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Buea, Cotonou, Jeddah, Johannesburg, and London.

Different Methods of Payment/Procurement of JAMB Pin for Registration:

i.  Banks / micro finance banks payment
Present your profile Code, phone number and any other required details (if any) pay the required amount by cash or card. After payment JAMB PIN is automatically delivered to candidate’s phone number.

ii.  POS payment procedures
Present profile Code and pay by card after which JAMB PIN is delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number.

POS method of payment is available at State Offices of JAMB, any other POS outlets and JAMB CBT Centre that demands it.

iii.   ATM payment procedures

  • Insert your card in ATM machine, input your ATM pin, then select Bill Payment and after that select JAMB
  • Enter your profile Code and proceed to make payment
  • JAMB PIN is then delivered to your phone number

This is available on all ATM outlets of Participating Banks 

iv.   USSD CODE (NIBSS/ERCAS)

  • Dial *565*6*55019# (UTME) or *565*6*66019# (DE)
  • Enter your profile Code
  • Select bank and follow the displayed instruction to complete or make payment
  • JAMB-PIN is then delivered to the candidate’s unique telephone number

Note this USSD Code *565*6*55019# can be used only by JAMB UTME Candidates, While *565*6*66019# is for Direct Entry candidates.

v.   JAMB portal

  • Visit JAMB website: jamb.gov.ng
  • Click Purchase of 2024 Application Document
  • Enter your profile Code
  • Select any of the payment method (InterSwitch or Remita)
  • Then Make payment
  • JAMB-PIN is then delivered to the candidate’s phone number

Note: should in case you don’t want to make payment on your own, you can kindly visit any of the JAMB accredited centres and pay the sum of N7,700 (Seven Thousand Seven Hundred Naira only) for the procurement of JAMB-PIN and registration.

How To Retrieve or  Recover Lost ePIN After Payment 

If you have forgotten or lost your JAMB ePIN you can retrieve or recover it by sending an SMS (text message) in this format [UTMEPIN] or [DEPIN] to 55019 or 66019 with the same number which you used for purchasing of the ePIN. See example below;

Example on how JAMB UTME Candidates can recover their ePIN;

i. Send an SMS in this format UTMEPIN to this number 55019.



ii. Immediately after that your ePIN will sent to your unique mobile number

Direct Entry Candidates who wants to recover their ePIN;

i. send an SMS in this format DEPIN to this number 66019.



ii. After that, the ePIN is delivered to your unique number.

What is JAMB ePIN?

The word ePIN simply means Electronic Personal Identification Number. Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) ePIN  is a unique digit number which JAMB candidates must purchase before registering for JAMB UTME/DE. Without JAMB ePin you can not register for JAMB.

How Much is JAMB ePin?

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced officially that the cost price for the JAMB ePIN is between N6200 to N7,700. That means for candidates to purchase the ePIN they will have to pay the above mentioned amount, dependant on where you purchased yours, but it shouldn’t be above N7,700.
